Sarangani is a province in SoCCSKSarGen Region or Region 12 located in the southern part of Mindanao Island, Philippines.

Sarangani Province History

The discovery of the Maitum Anthropomorphic Pottery (Maitum jars) in the municipality of Maitum proved that Sarangani was home to a civilization that existed around 5 BC to 370 AD.

Sarangani Province was carved out of the third legislative district of South Cotabato on March 16, 1992 by virtue of Republic Act No. 7228.
