Showbiz Career
At the age of 17, Piolo Pascual started his showbiz career although he was a member of acting/theater clubs during his school days. He became a member of the defunct teen-oriented show That’s Entertainment of German Moreno. Later, he was cast in the TV drama Mara Clara and Gimik. His first movie project was an uninspiring role in the film The Vizconde Massacre Story (God Help Us!). He played his first starring role in the 2000 movie Lagarista. Then came his loveteam with Judy Ann Santos that really put his name in the consciousness of the Filipinos. They were paired in successive dramas and movies starting with Kahit Isang Saglit. This was followed by his loveteam with Claudine Barretto that added more allure and romantic excitement to his persona. Their movie Milan was a certified box-office hit. Since then, his face was a constant presence on magazine covers and his sexual preference became the stuff of the rumor mills.

It was the movie Dekada ’70 (The Seventies) that really brought fame to Piolo Pascual. He played a supporting role as Julian “Jules” Bartolome Jr., one of the sons of Couple Amanda Bartolome (Vilma Santos) and Julián Bartolome Sr. (Christopher de Leon). This movie gave him the so-called grand slam by winning 8 best supporting actor award by the award-giving councils of the Philippines. He was the only actor to receive such an award.

To date, Piolo starred in more than 70 movies and television programs. He also produced at least six movies. His latest movie project Marawi is still on the production stage.
