Kalasin Province: Profile, Tourist Spots

Kalasin Province is one of the provinces in the northeastern Region (Isan) of Thailand. It is surrounded by the provinces of Udon Thani (north), Sakon Nakhon and Mukdahan (east), Roi Et (south), Maha Sarakham and Khon Kaen (west).

Located 521 kilometers northeast of Bangkok, Kalasin Province has a total land area of 6,946.7 km2 and an estimated population of more than 985,000 in 2015. Topography consists of plateau and rolling hills with mountains in the northeast. A big dam was built in the 1960s. Main products are rice, tapioca, sugarcane, and silk clothes.
